Leading Expert in Cyberbullying

DJJDP Director of Community Programs, William "Billy" Lassiter was interviewed recently by WTVD, ABC11 in a story drawing attention to the growing problem of cyberbullying.

Billy has been interviewed and lectured on many occasions, both locally and nationally and is respected as an expert. However, this recent interview is linked to a story here in North Carolina that has a juvenile and his parent seeking help from authorities. According to the news report, the bullying has escalated to death threats and Durham Police are conducting a full investigation.

Lassiter has coauthored, Preventing Violence and Crime in America's Schools: From Put-Downs to Lock-Downs which takes an in-depth look at what the causes and solutions are to youth violence. Lassiter has been featured on a number of major news networks and national publications including: CNN, Fox News, the BBC, USA Today, the Los Angles Times, the New York Times and many others.
